Every year we look forward to TPFF and every year we’re blown away by the fabulous homegrown fashion talent we have right here in good old PTown (and how quickly the festival comes around every year, what the?!). TPFF 2018 was also its 20th anniversary so it was a super special celebration.
Here’s a look at what we wore and our TPFF 2018 Highlights…
Day 1: Opening Night
This yellow Morrison dress was everything on the catwalk! Image: @morrisonclothing.
There’s always an air of excited expectation about the opening night of TPFF. This year it was at Optus Stadium for the first time, so no-one really knew what to expect of the venue. Turns out looking over the specially lit hot pink Matagarup Bridge was pretty cool!
Although it was a late start to the show and an awful night of weather, that couldn’t keep us away. Morrison’s billowy dresses and Romance was Born’s collection were a definite highlight.
Bev & Nic’s verdict: Muchos bubbles & air kissing, so farshun, but not our fave show.
Day 3: 20 Years of Ae’lkemi
Ae’lkemi was fierce and sexy on the runway… #werkit
We LOVE us an Ae’lkemi show, it’s always high energy with fabulous frocks and lots of love for designer Alvin Fernandez in the room.
This was a real expose of Alvin’s collections over the years including his early menswear ranges; an awesome trip down memory lane to see how the brand has evolved.
Bravo Alvin, great show, sexy and polished as always.
Bev & Nic’s verdict: We’ll have one of everything please!
Day 4: Empire Rose – Rock Star Royalty
Rock star sparkles and tonnes of fun on the Empire Rose runway.
The show of the festival in our eyes.
Models were fierce and fun on the catwalk, walking to a bangin’ soundtrack provided by live DJ’s (drinking red wine). Designer Kathryn Cizeika’s super sparkly pieces certainly shined bright under the disco balls.
This show was without a doubt the most fun, models were having a blast on the catwalk and there was a fabulous after party.
We also MUST have one of the limited edition glitter sparkle tees that were peppered along the edges of the catwalk with some of our fave slogans; ‘Not Here to Fuck Spiders’ ‘Loose AF’ and ‘Dead’. Yes please.
Bev & Nic’s verdict: The show of the festival. Want…Need.
Til’ next year…
