Clover Accessories: Make a Statement

Feb 23 2015 by Nicole

Western Australia is extremely lucky to have a mass of incredible designers and creatives. One of those gaining a huge following for her quirky clutches, must-have shoes and statement necklaces is the very fabulous, Clover Lee-Steere.

Both Bev and I fell madly and deeply in love with Clover Accessories a couple of years ago and with her new collection La Plage being seen in the hands of bloggers, fashion lovers and stylists in Perth and beyond, we totally expect her quirky designs to be the accessory du jour at all the upcoming Fashion Weeks.

La Plage was inspired by European beaches and from a recent trip to the Amalfi coast… Nic thinks the crabs and fish were a dead giveaway #smart.

We were very lucky to catch this busy and inspiring lady at the recent launch of her new collection.

TST: Whose style inspires you?
Clover: I love Leandra Medine from Man Repeller. She has a great way of mixing casual with dressy and has fun with fashion – she doesn’t take herself too seriously.

TST: Is there a fashion faux pas that you wish would just go away?
Clover: Midriffs.
(I’m with you on that one Clover!!..Nic)

TST: What is your absolute favourite material to work with?
Clover: I love working with genuine leather. It’s one of the few materials that gets more beautiful and individual as it ages and changes over time.

TST: Tell us about your personal style.
Clover: I think I’m relaxed, casual and colourful. I dress for my mood most of the time.

TST: If a girl could only have one accessory in her wardrobe (WHAT!?! JUST ONE?!) – what should that be?
Clover: Definitely a statement clutch. My favourite piece from this collection has to be the Sharkasm Clutch.

TST: What do you think is unique about WA style?
Clover: Because WA is beachy-coastal there isn’t really a need to get overly dressed up all the time, we have a very relaxed and effortless style and I think that is unique to Perth.

TST: Where is your favourite spot to unwind with a wine?
Clover: You’ve got to love Il lido, right on the beach, watching the sunset. And Samson’s Paddock.

TST: What is your go-to outfit for a girls night out?
Clover: My staple has to be my Helmut Lang leather pants, a casual tee and obviously I accessorise with Clover.

Nicole is a rare mix of glitz and pragmatism. She loves redefining her style and has an unhealthy obsession with lipgloss, Rag & Bone and champagne. She makes party planning look effortless and when she's not blogging or researching something she's spending time with two rather rambunctious redheads, Max & Charlie.
