I believe in the power of three, third time lucky, three’s a charm, you know the drill…so it’s no surprise that it also takes three days to get your Best Ever Hair;

I’m always getting asked what I do to my curly locks, and to be honest a lot of it is about the cut and the products I use, but this is what I do when I want really good hair:

Step 1:

Don’t wash your hair for three whole days, that’s right, let it go a little bit ‘feral’ – the rough messy bun and slick tie back are your best friends right now.

Step 2:

Use dry shampoo daily. For the whole three days. Be liberal with it. If you’re a brunette like me, get the one with the added colour in it, or you’ll end up with white hair and no-one wants to look older than they are amiright?! I love Batiste Dry Shampoo, or if you’re on the go I also love the small Cedal Dry Shampoo for Dark Hair – you can find both at Priceline.

Step 3:

When you do wash your hair on day four (so that’s three whole days without washing it) don’t condition it in the shower. Fresh out of the shower wrap it in a hair towel and let it dry a bit naturally.

Step 4:

When it’s time to take the towel off, give it a light condition with Eleven Australia’s Miracle Hair Treatment (this Aussie product is the bomb!) You only need one squirt and then work it through, mostly at the ends.

Step 5:

Give your hair some time to dry naturally. I pretty much never blow dry my hair or my curls/waves fall out, but if you blow-dry yours then go for it, just let some of the moisture lift from it naturally first.

Step 6:

When it’s nearly dry, give it some product love. I’m a massive fan of Sea Salt Spray, I use literally tonnes of the stuff and one of the best is also the cheapest. I love Schwarzkopf Styliste Ultime Sea Salt Beach Look Texture Spray (like $9.99 at Priceline and Woolworths), and if I want a bit of extra oomph I use Eleven Australia’s I Want Body Volume Spray – this little miracle has volume powder in it, so you don’t need to add any to your crown afterwards. Just a word of warning, use one of the other of these products, not both together or you’ll have product overload!!

Odds are if you're looking for Beverly and can't find her she's somewhere quiet devouring a magazine from cover to cover with a glass of wine in hand. A fastidious editor, she has a love of cheek stains, beachy curls, and boho glam style (maxi dress obsessed!). But she truly believes her one true talent is being event ready in under 20 minutes.
