TST Beauty Review: Environ Skincare

We’ve been keeping a little bit of a secret… since December last year we have completely overhauled our beauty regimes. We’ve always said that our skincare is one third genetics (thanks Ma and Pa!), one third professional treatments (stay tuned for our skin needling review) and one third at-home care…

We get asked about our skincare all the time and we’ve already shared with you our daily rituals and some of our fave beauty products (see Nic’s here and Bev’s here). But something our much smarter friends in the beauty industry have known for quite a while is that once you’re over 40… you have to up your game in the skincare department and bring in the big guns… active products.

Vitamin A specifically.

What we didn’t know is that we could (and should!?) have been doing this for a long time… better to be late to the party than be at home in your uggies right??

So here it is… the reason our skin has been off-the-charts glowing and we have dramatically improved pigmentation and condition.

The ENVIRON range.

THE SCIENCE-Y BIT

It was developed by plastic surgeon Dr Des Fernandes, he discovered the essential role vitamin A plays in skin health.

Its been said that Vitamin A is the key nutrient skin needs to look beautiful and healthy for life. It works by normalising skin functions so it corrects ALL skin conditions. It thickens and stimulates the dermis, and increases the amount of collagen; therefore it slows down the normal ageing breakdown of your collagen and elastin.

Impressive huh?

HOW WE STARTED

Our first step was the Environ AVST range that delivers highly effective concentrations of Vitamin A and antioxidants to the skin. The active ingredients (like the Vitamin A) are introduced in a special “step-up” system to make sure the skin continues to improve as we move up the concentration ladder. Basically we had to start at AVST 1 which has the lowest concentration of Vitamin A. If anyone has ever gone straight to a strong Vitamin A cream and had the red peely face, you’ll understand why starting low and moving up as your skin adjusts is the best way forward. Even with my SUPER sensitive skin, I only had a few small red/dry patches for about a week every time I jumped up. Bev didn’t have any reactions.

WHAT WE’RE ON NOW…

We’ve recently moved onto Environ’s shiny new product…Environ Youth EssentiA.

Basically this range brings all the big guns and latest skin tech to the skincare table… creating an even smoother and healthier looking skin that glows with youthful radiance. Yup. We want ALL of that.

We love that it’s easily absorbed and doesn’t feel greasy, but it doesn’t feel like you need to slather it on either. It’s easy to pop make-up over and we’ve both noticed improvements in our skin texture and I have less skin pigmentation. Wins all round.

We have to say we are both completely hooked on this range. And the proof’s in the pudding because we’ve both had so many compliments on our skin lately… someone thought I was 32 the other day and Bev got asked for ID at a bar… so that… my friends, is worth EVERY PENNY!

And we’re amongst good company, with hardcore fans such as Elle Macpherson and Naomi Watts loving Environ too.
