Most of you know that we both grew up Down South, so when Your Margaret River Region Magazine asked us to list our favourite shops #douth we said; YES!
It has to be said that we love our shopping. Yep, if it was an Olympic sport, we’re pretty sure we’d be gold medalists! And as two born and bred down south chicks, we’ve spent a fair amount of time mooching around the Margaret River region checking out the best it has to offer. So here’s some of our faves;
Session’s Surf Shop loveliness.
I grew up with a whole load of surfers and it was considered ‘mintox’ to have the latest Hot Tuna or Mambo t-shirt at high school! So no matter how old I get I always want to poke my nose into Sessions Surf Shop. It’s a Margaret River institution with the latest in everything Billabong, including some beautiful new tropical print ‘kinis’, as well as cool sunnies, great maxi and mini dresses and t-shirts and boardies for the boys. Gnarly.

If you love your fashion with a side of environmentally friendly you’ll love Boutique Eco, which is overflowing with natural fashion, beauty products and homewares. The store also sells jewellery, the popular Damselfly candle range and has amazing Merino possum products and bamboo underwear that’s so soft you’ll literally feel like you’re not wearing any. Ooh-err.

The gorgeous Elle of Fusion Blue.
Fusion Blue has long been a favourite of ours. Owner Elle Jennings has beautiful bohemian style and has been designing and selling her own label Zephyr in-store since 2009. The store has an easy breezy, everybody’s welcome feel to it and also stocks gorgeous homewares and jewellery. As an added treat you’ll find Zest Flowers tucked away at the back of the store run by the delightful Bridget who treats floristry like it’s art.

I really dislike shoe shopping… said me NEVER. Appealing to my love of leather and originality, Supanova has supplied me with almost every style from on-trend gladiators to hot new heels. With that mix of down south relaxed vibe and city wear-ability, Supanova ticks all my boxes from beach to bar… in fact, I almost never leave without a shoebox in hand. True story.

Super shoes at Supanova…
Is it just me or does no-one else find the time to actually go underwear shopping properly? If you’re in Margaret River pop in to The Bra Emporium and the girls will fit you properly with a great selection of underwear from everyday bralettes by Bassoni to sweet sleepwear by Papinelle. They also sell divine locally made candles by Trust Bella.
Shop 2/137 Bussell Highway, Margaret River. (08) 9757 9949
The tres’ cool Sugarman store.
Anyone who knows me knows I love a bit of street and man style, so I was really happy to find Sugarman on a recent trip to Margs. Tucked a street back from the main shopping strip, Sugarman has a plethora of cool street labels including Status Anxiety and Mr Simple and also sells quirky antiques, original art and coffee. What’s not to love?
Sugarman, Shop 1, 30 Fearn Avenue, Margaret River (08) 9758 7753.
TST’s top tip
When you’ve finished shopping, we highly recommend a glass of the local good oil at Morries to compare purchases and take a load off. After all, shopping is cardio, so you deserve a wine! Find Morries at 2/149 Bussell Hwy, Margaret River (08) 9758 8280
